Becoming a “Whānau Friendly” Church

The Whānau Friendly Process is a journey, one in which the church – even after completing the four phases – is continually becoming the best version of itself in service to God and neighbour.

Our dream is that the local church is a place where all generations are present, thriving, encouraging one another, and growing in faith together. This process is about the people. It will be critical to continually bring the vision and your agreed upon goals before your church community so that, together, you can work alongside one another with God’s help in making it a reality.

When you have completed the fourth phase of the Whānau Friendly Process, you are welcome to describe yourself as a Whānau Friendly Church if you would like.

For churches who have been through the Kids Friendly Self Review in the past, and who may still consider themselves “Kids Friendly,” you may decide to display your Whānau Friendly logo alongside your Kids Friendly logo.
